Diptera Family: Mycetophilidae Characteristics: One pair of rounded wings on this small insect. The legs are long and the antennae are also long. Behavior: Since leaves and dead wood are often decomposed by fungus, as the name implies this gnat feeds on the fungus that decays leaves and wood.
