I read a novel many years ago written by Authur C. Clarke that was called (I think) "the 9 billion names of god". Going over the names of amber just reminds me of clarke's short story. Thank goodness there are not 9 billion names for amber. Many of these names came from Inge Whelan who received help for this accumulation from the amber news group and also long time friend, John Fudala.

Anbernen:  Ancient Belgian term, meaning 'to burn'	Ambrosia:  Present Greek (there are a few greek versions)

Barnsteen:  South Africa (Afrikaans)	Barnsten: Yiddish (from any of the many places, the Jewish culture settled)
