Description of the Specimen
$41
105. I get a kick out of pieces like this. There is a lot here - a tropical stingless bee, Hymenoptera, Meliponini, genus Proplebeia. On top of that there is a winded termite, Isoptera and a very special unknown animal (just not sure on this.) This is sure to be an interesting piece of Dominican amber.
Scanned Image!
$49
106. Plants and animals. There are a lot of bits of plants in this piece - in fact all over, cool looking. There is also a centipede (part of one) that is difficult to see.
Scanned Image!
$79

107. David and Goliath - good sized piece with two different species of ants, Hymenoptera, Formicidae, one very large and the other small. Very sharp piece.

Scanned Image!

$39
108 Sterile, female worker ant, Hymenoptera, family Formicidae. Interesting piece with some lovely fungal decomposition. Actually there is a second ant also! There is some organic debris that looks like roots (the stuff is small though).
Scanned Image!
$99
109. Small piece with the pseudoscorpion off to the side. This has a good price on it, basically because of the size of the amber. Some glazing on the surface - you will not find any pseudoscorpions at less than $100.
Scanned Image!

$49
110. Flat, pendant shape to this amber. There is a large beetle larvae (I think it is a beetle larvae.) Interesting piece of amber.
Scanned Image
$31

111. Here is a male winged ant, Hymenoptera, Formicidae and few other strewn miscellaneous body parts.
Scanned Image!

$149
112. I'm not 100% sure on this - spider or daddy-longlegs (Opiliones or harvestmen). This one certainly has long legs. Wonderful specimen, clear, perfect color and a "spider" that is out of this world. A beautiful piece.
Scanned Image!
$128
113 Great piece. Shows layers and has two different colors. In this large piece of amber you will find a caddis fly, Triphoptera. This is a really fine piece of old (24 million years old) Dominican amber.
Scanned Image!
$36

114. Small piece of amber with what I think is a caddis fly, Trichoptera - and not a butterfly or moth. Not sure though.
Scanned Image!

$74
115. This piece contains 2 air bubbles in water (en-hydros) along with a female worker ant, Hymenoptera, Formicidae, (sterile). Very nice piece.
Scanned Image!

It contains a full size adult planthopper, Homoptera, super family Fulgoridea, a complete winged termite, Isoptera, 3 flies, Diptera and above the left wing of the planthopper is a mite (not shown in photographs)! There is a lot of organic debris (see scan) - which is very good and even a piece of unknown plant material.
Scanned Image!
$42
117. In small spider amongst a sea of yellow with ancient air bubbles all around. Nice piece - only a spider here.
Scanned Image!
$69

118. This one is loaded. Seems like everything is inside. there must be a half dozen fungus gnats, Diptera, Mycetophilidae, a spider and just a bunch of other animals. You will enjoy the time investigating this piece of 24 million year old amber.

Scanned Image!

$69

119. Large dome shape amber with an unknown beetle, Coleoptera, part of an eaten leaf and a small scaly barklouse, Psocoptera, Lepidopsocidae.
Scanned Image!

$134
120. Ever wanted to give flowers? How about 24 million year old flowers? Here is a beautiful flower from a plant that died 24 million years ago.
Scanned Image!
$59

121. Good sized piece of Dominican amber. This has 3 very small (baby?) spiders and a rove beetle. It is a nice piece showing some successive resin flow and a bunch of 24 million year old air bubbles.
Scanned Image!

$149

122. Another one I am not sure of..... might be a spider or it might be a Huntsman (daddy-long-legs). The amber is great though. This is a special piece.
Scanned Image!

$519
123. 74 grams of pure sunshine. This is a magnificent piece of amber. Very clear with a perfect color. Just a wonderful piece of 24 million year old resin It is about 2 x 2. x .75 inches in size.
$75
SOLD
124. Interesting piece of amber. Good sized with two large wasps, Hymenoptera. Off to one side is what looks like a larva that is twisted at a 90 degree angle. It almost looks juicy! Small but very nice larva.
Scanned Image
$134
SOLD
125 This is a large piece of amber with a large cricket in it. Very easy to see, even at a glance. Rather unusual because of the fine way it looks.
Scanned Image!
$45
SOLD
126. A smallish piece that is very clear and contains a very obvious bract from a flower or leaf bud. There is also a nice fly that appears to be flying toward the bract. Cool piece.
Scanned Image!
$32
127. Here is a male gall gnat, Cecidomyiidae with very plumose antennae. Nice, and easy to see - male gnat !Scanned Image!
$88
128 An unusual beetle, Coleoptera, Scraptiidae (I think). This is the type of beetle found on the forest floor of the amber forest. the amber is good sized and very clear.
Scanned Image!
$71
129. This has a great shape to it and it is very clear. All in all, one heck of a piece. You will enjoy looking at the coprolites and beetle larvae.
Scanned Image
$32
130. A rather busy piece with lots of interfering angles and such. There are 4 winged termites in this amber - great price for such a piece.
Scanned Image!
$24
131. Small cab shape with a small planthopper nymph, Homoptera, Fulgoroidea.

Scanned Image!

$53

132. There is a cricket and a classic true midge, Diptera, Chironomid.
Scanned Image!

$185
133. First, there is a nice winged termite complete with it's wings. Also has one without the wings. There are beetles, files and ants in this piece. There is even a barklouse, Pscoptera. Finally there is a bark-gnawing beetle, Coleoptera, Ostomatidae. Very clear and if you want to impress, this is it.
Scanned Image!
$587

134. Clear and large. This even has a number of wasps inside the amber. It is quite the piece, 120 grams (454 grams in a pound). Has some stress spots which add to the beauty of the piece. Really impressive, you cannot go wrong.
Scanned Image!

$66
135. 4 pinhole borer beetles (Coleoptera, Family Platypodidae), a small wasp, and a shed of an immature planthopper, among lots of air bubbles, organic debris and other bits. Large piece of amber, almost 2 inches around! There is also a layer of what looks like black air bubbles(I doubt that they are air bubbles though!)
Scanned Image!
$38
136. Half a tear drop shape to this clear yellow Dominican amber. There is part of a leaf, along with the head from an ant, a fungus gnat, Diptera, Myceptophilidae and some strange looking "hairs" which I cannot ID.
Scanned Image!
$456
137. Except for not being centrally located, this is the perfect Pseudoscorpion. The amber is exceptionally clear and the Pseudoscorpion has both pincers out to attach or get the next ride. Very nice. Scanned Image!
$42
138. A nice leaf on one side and a female worker ant, Hymenoptera, Formicidae on the other. Good piece.
Scanned Image!
$65
SOLD
139. This is a perfect shaped piece of Dominican amber. Very clear with great color, this piece has a small spider off to the side. This would make a beautiful pendant.
Scanned Image!
$31

140. I am not sure what this is. Smallish piece of amber with a possible Isopod?
Scanned Image!

$83
141. I do get a kick out of pieces like this. The animal is big - more than .5 inches, but here is the kicker, I am not sure what it is. Maybe a leafhopper, Homoptera? It is really nice, no matter what it is. Take a look at the scanned image.
Scanned Image!
$79

142. Very nice shape to this piece of amber. It contains a single male, winged ant, Hymenoptera, Formicidae. The ant's head and body are highlighted by a collar of fungus - which actually makes seeing it easier. Nice piece.

Scanned Image!

$58
SOLD

143. Nice sized piece of yellow amber (fat bottom) with a fungus gnat, Diptera, Mycetophilidae and some unique organic inclusions. One looks like part of a branching twig and the other, well I just do not know.

Scanned Image!

$53
SOLD

144. This is a great piece of amber. The shape is perfect for a pendant and the clarity is out of this world. There is some debris which I feel are coprolites and also a single, centered, gall gnat, Cecidomyiidae. Great price on this.
Scanned Image!

$154
145. Nice shape to this amber. It rather triangular shaped and thin. This piece of amber though contains a very large mite, Opiliones, suborder Laniatores. The mite is almost 1/4 inch long - that is big.
Scanned Image!
$48
146. This longish piece has a winged termite. Rather large, the termite is partly obscured by air bubbles - cool piece though.
Scanned Image!
$79
147. Two termites. These are the ones that are that at right angles to each other. There are some 25 million year old air bubbles, some organic matter and two black scavenger flies, Diptera, Scatopsida.
Scanned Image!

$99

148. "You want crickets - we've got crickets". Smallish piece with a nice cricket, Orthoptera, easily seen and easy on the pocket.
Scanned Image!

$49
149. An interesting stone - nice cab shape, very clear and rather a good size. Contains a small true bug, a gnat bug, Hemiptera, a Anthocorid or possibly a Mirid species - you do not see a lot of these.
Scanned Image!
$74
150. A very good piece of amber. Clear, easy to see and this has two interesting animals (actually more than two). One is a planthopper, Fulgoridea, Homoptera and the other I am not sure. They are both next to each other. Cool looking. Also a gall gnat, Cecidomyiidae and a hard to see immature planthopper.
Scanned Image!
$102
SOLD
151. Not big, but a nice cab shape. This is an unusual piece. There is one bug that at first I thought was a twisted wing, since it has the raspberry eyes, but now I do not think it is (I wish it was though!) I do not know what it is. There is a beautiful fungus gnat, Diptera, Mycetophilidae and also what I think may be a large wasp, Hymenoptera.
Scanned Image!
$172
152. This is really easy to see - a flower bud. It is very unusual to find one, much less to find one this large. This is quite a piece! There is also a small ant and planthopper. You can see 2 stress planes - but this does not detract from the scientific nor beauty of the piece.
Scanned Image!
$278
153. Probably one of the finest planthopper nymphs I have ever seen, Homoptera, Fulgoridea. The nymph is text book and the amber is perfectly clear with a wonderful yellow. This is a superb piece of Dominican amber. You will enjoy the detail of this animal.
Scanned Image!
$79
SOLD
154 Clear, great color and lots of stuff inside. There is a wonderful fly, Diptera, Brachycera, a baby spider (at least he is small) and some other unknowns.
Scanned Image!
$89

155. This has 3 unusual pieces inside it. First there is a good sized leaf beetle, Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae. Along with that is what may the molt of a thrip, Thysanoptera and finally there is a barklouse, Psocoptera.

Scanned Image!

$112
156. Great piece. Nice shape, with lots of organic debris which adds character. This has a very large millipede, Polysdemida near the middle. In fact, this one looks like it could have soft parts to the body. It is a very, very nice piece.
!
Scanned Image

$99
SOLD
157. Ever see a cockroach in amber? Here is a nice piece of Dominican amber with a lovely roach, Blatteridae in it. Good price on this.
Scanned Image!
$48
158. Large piece that has at least two fungus gnats, Diptera, Mycetophilidaea. There really is a lot more in this busy, including what looks like part of a leaf (do not think it is) and some miscellaneous debris scattered inside. Fun piece.
Scanned Image!
$69
159. Not sure what one animal is. Unusual animal - globular with strange head antennae. Nice piece of clear amber. Next to it is a sterile female worker ant Hymenoptera, Formicidae.
Scanned Image!
$27
160. A very small but perfect piece with a nice larva of a beetle - looks like a mealy bug larvae to me (I am sure it is not)! You can't go wrong on this one.
Scanned Image!
$67
SOLD

161. Smallish piece of amber with a nice flat bark beetle, Coleoptera, Cucujidae and a wasp, Hymenoptera.
Scanned Image!

162. This is a nice piece of amber. It is clear with good color and contains a nice sized planthopper, Homoptera, Fulgoridea. Very good piece at a great price.
Scanned Image!
