Description of the Specimen
$169
105. A beautiful piece of amber. Not polished on the sides - adds a lot of class to this chunk. The amber is dark and very clear. There are some great animals here - a fungus gnat (good sized), Diptera, Mycetophilidae, a small unknown fly and two bark-gnawing beetles, Coleoptera, Ostomatidae. One of the things that make this such a special piece is that you can see through both flat sides

112. I'm not 100% sure on this - I think it is a moth or butterfly but it could be a leafhopper. Only an expert can tell. Whichever, it is large and impressive, with very clear amber.
Scanned Image!
$128
113 Great piece. Shows layers and has two different colors. In this large piece of amber you will find a caddis fly, Triphoptera. This is a really fine piece of old (24 million years old) Dominican amber.
Scanned Image!
$36

114. Sometimes your best guess is good, I hope it is here, because I think this is an Isopod. That is as far as I will take this though - the amber is a lovely clear yellow!
Scanned Image!

$25
124. A fungus gnat that got attacked by a fungus! Poetic justice. There are two objects which I believe are from plants, such as a bract from a flower or something similar. Under one bract is the hind end of a silverfish or a roach.
Scanned Image!
$134
125 This is a large piece of amber with a large cricket in it. Very easy to see, even at a glance. Rather unusual because of the fine way it looks.
Scanned Image!
$98
126 This contains a small immature cricket amid a sea of organic debris. It has a stunning effect. Actually, I see this as a future pendant because of the perfect shape (a 1 or 2 mm band of gold going around would be perfect.) It is really nice.

Scanned Image!
$229
SOLD
157. First off, let me admit that I am not sure what this is. I have many guesses, an aquatic lacewing, Planipennia is my best guess, but I freely admit there is 60% chance that I am wrong. This is an amazing pie of amber, nearly 2 inches in length and very clear. The wing venation is wonderful on this 24 million year old animal.
Scanned Image!
$48
158. Large piece that has at least two fungus gnats, Diptera, Mycetophilidaea. There really is a lot more in this busy, including what looks like part of a leaf (do not think it is) and some miscellaneous debris scattered inside. Fun piece.
Scanned Image!
$69
