Sunset Moth
Widely
regarded one of the most beautiful lepidoptera in the world,
this is not a butterfly at all, but a day-flying moth! Its wings
were prized for use in jewelry in Victorian England, and its
image is ubiquitous among lepidoptera fans around the world.
The common name for this amazing moth comes from all the colors
of a sunset displayed in the wings. Found only on Madagascar,
Africa.

Violin
beetle
Mormolyce
phyllodes
This singular
insect is also called the Guitar Beetle or the Great Fiddler
Beetle because of its uncanny resemblance to these stringed
instruments. It's origin is the island of Sumatra in Indonesia,
and it is a member of the ground beetle family. It's strangely
flat design suits it perfectly for fitting between the bark
and wood of decaying logs where it hunts for food.

shades in the family. Like other weevils, it has an unusually
hard outer shell to protect it. It is found only in Papua New

Sternocera
Jewel Beetle
Thailand
is one of the most wonderful parts of the world for jewel beetles
like this one. From one end it looks metallic green, from the
other, a deep iridescent blue. Iridescence in beetles is caused
by varying air pockets between layers of chitin, the material
that makes up the hard shell. It creates what is called a "chirped
filter" result in dazzling metallic color.

As
a company policy, Amberica West™ does not trade in endangered, rare
or otherwise protected wildlife. We source our supplies of common,
abundant insect species from Government regulated ranching cooperatives
in 15 Countries; your purchase actually aids environmental conservation
rather than detracting from it. The Philippines is the world's leading
exporter of captive bred insects, supplying most of the butterflies
to theme parks in Europe and North America. Indeed, export of all
wild-caught fauna was banned since 1994. Furthermore, all of our frames
are not made from real wood. Ethical concerns over deforestation in
many third world countries has led us to pioneer the use of timber
substitute framing.
All the butterflies, other insects and arachnids found in Amberica
West™ are REAL! We do not alter, enhance or otherwise modify their
natural color.
Many of the framed insects are ranched/farmed specifically for the
purpose. We do not trade in species that are regarded as rare or endangered.
These animal mounts are as beautiful as you think they may be. They
can take your breath away with how they look! Remember, have a 100%
money back guarantee with everything we sell.
