Bitterfield Amber

All of the amber here is Bitterfeld amber. They are from the lignite mines in Bitterfeld/Leipzig, Germany (flooded today). The Bitterfeld amber is only 20 Million of years old and is located under the lignite layer.

While we would not say that Bitterfeld amber is rare, we do find it very difficult to come by. Additionally, amber like this is often sold as "by the kg". Most folks do not want to by that much amber, so we offer it here to you, by the piece. We charge roughly $2 per gram - which is a VERY good price.

All of the amber is "rough" (not polished).
