This is amber from Mexico, Chiapas amber, Simojovel mines.
This polished amber piece features a genuine fossilized scorpion inclusion, clearly visible within a glowing,
translucent matrix. The scorpion’s curved tail and body structure are well preserved, making it an exciting and authentic prehistoric specimen.
Surrounding it are multiple additional inclusions, including small insects and wing fragments, creating a dynamic snapshot of ancient life frozen in time. The amber itself displays beautiful clarity with natural flow lines and organic debris, adding depth and character.
Scorpions in amber are highly sought after by collectors, and multi-inclusion pieces like this are especially desirable—making this a standout addition to any serious collection.
The scorpion is located slightly right of center, oriented diagonally. You can make out: The curved metasoma (tail)—a key identifying feature and a compact prosoma (body) with small pedipalps (pincers). It’s not perfectly splayed, but it’s recognizable and fairly complete
There are lots of other animals inside this large piece, ants, stingless bees and gnats.
The piece is about 3 x 2 x .5 inches in size.
The bad part of this is that the scorpion is better visible from underlighting. From the top, it is difficult to see. Scorpions usually command areas around 3 to 7 thousand dollars depending upon the quality.
There is even part of a leaf in this specimen.
We are pricing this at a very low price of $1,175.
